Juan José is recognized as a designer to both pageant contestants and the stars. Overseas he has designed for Miss Colombia Universe, Miss Peru USA, and other celebrities. In 2016, he made a costume for Miss Ohio Latina for the international contest in Mexico and provided dresses for the regional Emmy Awards, and costumes for a convention hosting several thousand people. He has mounted Runway Shows in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC – as well here in Columbus, OH. He also designs home furnishings for MG Home, an exclusive store in Lima, Peru.
Although his real love is fashion, Juan José has trained as a journalist, model, fashion designer, and chef. He was a runway model in Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Colombia, and in 1987, was crowned the top Peruvian model, Mr. Peru. He has taught modeling at John Casablanca’s international modeling school (Colombia) and privately in New York.
Also known as a Latin TV fashion commentator, Juan José has hosted “De Peruanos para el Mundo” (New York), "Evenings in Red" (Lima, Peru), “Telemenu" (Medellin, Colombia), “Fashion” (Sante Fe, Argentina), and "De Etiqueta" on Univision (Washington, DC). He brings these many experiences to his designs.
